The "Shout Sister Shout" is a Lindy Hop event in Rome.
THE Lindy Hop event in Rome.
The 2nd edition took place from 2 till 4 of December 2011, and it was awesome.
It was my baptism of fire, as "intermediate" dancer (in Rome the scene is really young, the standard really soft) and as a "craftswoman".


Let's draw a quiet veil over the dancing (maybe I'll dedicate an entire post about my dancing and my self-confidence), and have a look at the other skill I have shown over there.

Bummer. I have no photographic proof of my stand, except this lovely shot by the official photographer of the event, Libero Api (warning! beautiful women! and no, none of them is me).

But I do have left some of the items I presented @Shout Sister Shout, so I took some photos in my gardenyard to put them on the blog.

They all are necklaces with pendants in a brass alloy,
refined with mixed craft techniques, sewing and crochetting.

The rose resin cabochon, hand-painted,
is attached to a pearl white ribbon,
or a chain in crocheted lurex with a lace bow.

And here she is, my frilly friend Frida, she's assisting me for some time in my sewing adventures, she's a valuable help and without her I'd be lost.

For a more Flapper style necklace, I lengthen the chain, and I added to a pendant some very flapperish fringes; instead of leaving the void inside the pendant, I sewed a little heart on embroidered fabric (a white Sangallo-like fabric), and secured it on the back of the charm.

È L'evento di Lindy Hop a Roma.
La seconda edizione si è svolta dal 2 al 4 dicembre 2011, ed è stata grandiosa.
È stato il mio battesimo del fuoco, sia come ballerina "intermediate" (a Roma la scena è tanto giovane, e gli standard sono taaanto morbidi) sia come "artigiana".
Stendiamo un decoroso velo sul ballo (magari dedicherò un post intero a proposito delle mie capacità ballerecce e quelle di auto-giudizio), e diamo uno sguardo all'altra dote artistica che ho provato a portare su quella pista.

Ohchepeccato. Non ho alcuna prova fotografica del mio stand al mercatino, eccetto questa adorabile foto scattata dal fotografo ufficiale dell'evento, Libero Api (avvertimento! donzelle bellissime! e no, nessuna di loro sono io).

Ma in effetti mi sono rimasti alcuni dei pezzi che avevo presentato allo Shout Sister Shout, quindi gli ho fatto qualche scatto in giardino, così da poterli postare qui sul blog.

Sono tutte collanine con pendenti in lega di ottone,
rifiniti con tecniche miste, cucito e uncinetto.

Il cabochon in resina con la rosa, dipinto a mano,
è sospeso ad un nastro bianco perla,
o ad una catenella all'uncinetto in lurex
arricchita da un fiocco di pizzo.

Ed eccola, la mia frizzantina amica Frida, mi assiste già da un po' nelle mie vicende di cucito, è un aiuto prezioso e senza di lei sarei perduta.

Per una collana più in stile "Flapper", ho sensibilmente allungato la catenella, ed ho aggiunto al pendente delle piccole frange molto-flapper; anziché lasciare il vuoto al centro del pendente, ho cucito un cuoricino rosso su della stoffa ricamata (un simil-Sangallo bianco), e l'ho fissata sul retro del ciondolo.

Spero che vi siano piaciuti quelli che sono stati i miei primi tentativi. e il mio giardino! e Frida!
